Volunteer Information

We offer educational prevention programs for all ages.  S.A.F.E. Educators work with elementary, junior high, high schools and colleges to provide information that helps children and adults avoid being abused and what to do when something bad happens.

S.A.F.E. programs include the following topic areas:

  • Body Safety
  • Boundries
  • Internet Safety
  • Healthy Relationships
  • Date Rape & Date Rape Drugs
  • Rape

Because there is always some level of secrecy and isolation when sexual abuse happens, S.A.F.E. raises awareness to prevent abuse and reduce the pain and suffering a victim mightg experience.  S.A.F.E. Programs include the differences between good and bad touches and secrets, and are children are given the tools that will help them talk about threats they experience with the trusted adults in their lives.

Educational Legislation update:

Public Act 95-764 (signed into law July 29, 2008) makes sexual assault awareness education mandatory for all public high achools, college and universities; effective January 1, 2009.

The following requirements must be met:

1.  Public high schools must include sexual assault awareness as part of a comprehensive health education program.

2.  Public universities and colleges must provide a form of sexual assault awareness education to all incoming students.  Education can be provided through a seminar; online training; or any other way schools can find to inform students.
